Trump Addresses US Tariff Income

(MENAFN) President Donald Trump declared on Monday that the duties the United States has been gathering are projected to surpass $600 billion.

He emphasized that these levies have made the nation "far stronger and more respected than ever before."

"We have taken in, and will soon be receiving, more than 600 Billion Dollars in Tariffs, but the Fake News Media refuses to talk about it because they hate and disrespect our Country, and want to interfere with the upcoming Tariff decision, one of the most important ever, of the United States Supreme Court," Trump expressed on his social media platform, Truth Social.

He reiterated that tariffs have rendered the US economically "far stronger and more respected than ever before," particularly from a national defense perspective.

According to figures from the US Treasury Department, the aggregate net proceeds from tariffs between January and November of the previous year reached $236.2 billion.

On November 5, the US Supreme Court reviewed a case to determine whether Trump had gone beyond his presidential powers under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) when imposing certain tariffs.

The Trump administration indicated it intends to persist in implementing the tariffs through alternative legal channels should the court deliver an unfavorable ruling. The decision is anticipated to directly influence the future of billions of dollars in tariff collections.
