Construction Begins at Olo Caye’s 'Mile 5' Mainland Facility
Initial site preparation and infrastructure work has begun this week, bringing to reality the project and its aspirations to boost Belize’s economy.
BELIZE CITY, BELIZE, September 2, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Olo Caye project leaders announced today that initial construction has begun at its staging site located at Mile 5 on the George Price Highway in Belize City. Phase 1 of construction at the staging site will establish the supportive infrastructure for the island formerly known as Stake Bank (Port Coral) – including employee lodging, a marina, fueling, storage facilities and more.Local residents, commuters, and businesses near the Mile 5 area can expect to see an increase in activity over the coming weeks, including the mobilization of heavy equipment, delivery of construction materials and the presence of work crews. The Olo Caye management team is working in strict accordance with local environmental and safety regulations to protect workers and the public throughout construction.
