GovCore Announces General Availability of GovCore MCP, Bringing Agentic AI to Regulatory Operations
22 tools give state and federal-approved large language models secure, agentic access to licensing, renewals, continuing education, enforcement and reporting
TORONTO, ONTARIO, CANADA, September 2, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- GovCore Inc., a Cardarelli Group Inc. company, today announced the general availability of GovCore MCP, a Model Context Protocol server that gives government agencies' approved large language models direct, agentic access to the GovCore regulatory operations platform. With 22 purpose-built tools, GovCore MCP allows licensing boards and regulatory agencies to automate as many workflows as they choose, using the AI environments their state or federal governance programs have already approved.
GovCore MCP is designed to be used from within the secure, government-approved cloud AI environments agencies already operate: Amazon Bedrock, Google Cloud Vertex AI and Microsoft Foundry (Azure AI Foundry). Because the model runs inside the agency's own environment and reaches GovCore through governed, audited tool calls, regulatory data stays in its country of origin, with residency in the United States and Canada, and every action is recorded against the licensee record.
The 22 tools span the full licensing lifecycle on one record, including application and license lookup, renewal processing, continuing-education verification, enforcement case management, fee and payment reconciliation, reporting and forecasting. An agency's model can, for example, analyze the license base and forecast new licensees across coming fiscal years, work a renewal queue, flag continuing-education deficiencies, or prepare board reporting — each step executed through the same permissions, rules and audit trail that govern GovCore's human users.
“Regulators told us they want the productivity of agentic AI without handing their systems of record to a chatbot,” said Julian Cardarelli, CEO, GovCore Inc. “GovCore MCP gives their approved models a governed door into the platform. The agency decides which model, which environment, which tools and which workflows. Everything else is configured to the agency's own rules, exactly as it is today.”
Highlights
• 22 tools covering licensing, renewals, continuing education, enforcement, payments, reporting and forecasting on a single licensee record.
• Works with approved environments. Built for use from Amazon Bedrock, Google Cloud Vertex AI and Microsoft Foundry, so agencies use the models and controls their governance programs have already sanctioned.
• Agency-controlled. AI is available only where an agency chooses to enable it. Tool access, permissions and workflow scope are configured per agency, per role.
• Data residency preserved. Regulatory data remains in the United States or Canada; the model comes to the data through governed tool calls, not the other way around.
• Fully audited. Every action taken by a model is logged against the record with the same controls that apply to staff, mapped to 20 NIST 800-53 control families.
• Open standard. Built on the Model Context Protocol, an open standard supported across the major AI platforms, avoiding vendor lock-in for agencies.
Availability
GovCore MCP is generally available today to GovCore customers in the United States and Canada. Agencies can request a demonstration or attend a general monthly platform demonstration at getgovcore.com.
