International Photography Hall of Fame Launches 2026 Charity Auction
Sam Abell's photographs reflect the quiet, observational approach that has distinguished his career as one of America's most respected documentary photographers. Pears, Moscow, 1983 is included in the 2026 IPHF Hall of Fame Charity Auction.

LOUIS, MO, UNITED STATES, September 29, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- International Photography Hall of Fame (IPHF) launches its online 2026 Charity Auction, inviting photographers, enthusiasts, collectors, and supporters around the world to bid on signed photographic prints, special editions, books, and unique photography experiences donated by acclaimed photographers and members of the Hall of Fame community.

The auction features a diverse selection of photographic work, including iconic rock 'n' roll imagery, intimate portraits, documentary photographs, and observations of everyday life.
Featured works include Adger Cowans's Mick Jagger (Wearing a Hat), 1969; Sheila Metzner's Josie, Geoffry Beene, 1988; Sam Abell's Pears, Moscow, 1983; and Eli Reed's Kids on the Car, A Long Walk Home, 1987/2024.. The auction also includes two photographs from Keron Psillas's Edge of Revelation series, in which flowers are encased in ice, becoming transformed and ethereal through the freezing process.
Unique experiences include photography walks in New York with Dan Root and in Lisbon with Keron Psillas, as well as a six-month photography mentorship with curator and Griffin Museum Executive Director Crista Dix. The auction also features a special handcrafted edition of Adger Cowans's book ADGER, published by 21st Editions and limited to 100 copies, including two signed platinum prints.
Proceeds benefit the International Photography Hall of Fame, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to preserving, celebrating, and advancing the art, science, and history of photography. Founded in 1965, IPHF collects and preserves important photographic works and materials while supporting exhibitions, educational programs, competitions, and opportunities to connect photographers and audiences around the world.
2026 International Photography Hall of Fame Awards
The auction is part of IPHF's 2026 Hall of Fame Awards celebration, taking place Saturday, October 3, 2026, at the Indy Art Center in Indianapolis.
The ceremony will honor Lee Friedlander, Sir Don McCullin, Garry Winogrand, Sandra S. Phillips, Fazal Sheikh, Joel-Peter Witkin, and Sarah Greenough. The evening will also feature acclaimed photographer Brian Ach as keynote speaker and 2025 Hall of Fame inductee Adger Cowans.
The evening begins with a 5:30 p.m. reception, followed by the Awards Ceremony at 7:00 p.m.
