ROCK HILL, SC, UNITED STATES, October 5, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- As corporate groups and private equity firms buy dental practices across the country, Piedmont Dental, a family dentist in Rock Hill, SC on Constitution Boulevard, is going the other way. The practice is owned by the dentist who treats its patients, Dr. Ben Areheart, DMD, and it intends to stay that way.The share of U.S. dentists affiliated with a dental support organization more than doubled between 2015 and 2024, from 7.2 percent to 16.1 percent, according to the American Dental Association's Health Policy Institute. Dr. Areheart earned his DMD at the Medical University of South Carolina College of Dental Medicine in Charleston in 2011. He and his wife are raising three children in the area.
